It's possible hotplug does something weird with nfblock, I usually have 
hotplug disabled, so I haven't seen this yet...

Setting the #DEBUG to 1 in the aranym/src/natfeat/xhdi.cpp could help 
debugging it (you'd see if the hotplug indeed talks to nfblock).
