No idea offhand but this might have to do with timing granularity and/or floating point precision. If you can give me freestanding test code I can run on an m68k box that might help; otherwise, https://wiki.debian.org/Aranym/Quick contains ready-made m68k VM images, if you want to do that. (Unfortunately there is no m68k porterbox at the moment, and there are no realistic plans to get one short-term.
