So it's working. No idea why mkswap failed early.

Does mkswap expect a block device instead of character device?

spice:/home/ij# ls -l /dev/mtd0
crw------- 1 root root 90, 0 Dec 17 10:04 /dev/mtd0

When i try to use it with modprobe mtdswap partitions=0 header=1 I get this:

[11118.260000] mtdswap: mtd0 does not have OOB

It may be a good idea to truncate a big file to 256 MiB, sha1sum it,
copy it to /dev/mtd0, and run sha1sum -c on /dev/mtd0 in a loop,
to rule out memory corruption.

I already ran several memory tests under AmigaOS with gvpmemtest.

Not very speedy, eh? I would've expected around 10 MB/s...
Now replace the call to ioremap() in drivers/mtd/devices/phram.c by
ioremap_fullcache() to switch from maximum impulse to warp 9 ;-)

Well, get it working at impulse speed should be the first step, than running at warp... ;)
