Source: libjpeg-turbo Version: 1.3.0-4 Severity: important Justification: fails to build from source
Hi, I’m reading on gmane.linux.debian.devel.general about Debian switching to libjpeg-turbo. I may think about this whatever I want or not, but if you want to switch, please make sure it builds on all architectures first. Not RC severity because this is not about release architectures, but still… not nice to break things for others, right? http://buildd.debian-ports.org/status/fetch.php?pkg=libjpeg-turbo&arch=m68k&ver=1.3.0-4&stamp=1403342680 This may be an endian and/or alignment¹ related issue. ① https://lists.debian.org/debian-68k/2014/07/msg00035.html Feel free to use https://wiki.debian.org/Aranym/Quick to install your own Atari virtual machine, or to work with one of the porters to run builds on one. I’ve got up to four VMs available myself, but I cannot give you a shell on them because they have access to the company LAN, but I can run test builds for you. I notice it also breaks on x32, for different reasons: http://buildd.debian-ports.org/status/fetch.php?pkg=libjpeg-turbo&arch=x32&ver=1.3.0-4&stamp=1404284046 For this, take any amd64 system and run an x32 chroot on them, given the right kernel (still wishing the Debian Linux maintainers would switch that config option on…). -- System Information: Debian Release: jessie/sid APT prefers unreleased APT policy: (500, 'unreleased'), (500, 'unstable') Architecture: m68k Kernel: Linux 3.14-1-m68k Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/lksh -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
