Laurent, Thanks for that information. I can confirm that changing libgcc_s.so.1 to libgcc_s.so.2 in /usr/share/initramfs-tools/hook-functions also allows an "apt-get upgrade" to complete for m68k, since an update of initramfs-tools was failing at the update-initramfs step. So I'll be able to update not only the QEMU m68k image but also all of my m68k systems that depend on that QEMU m68k image. -Stan
