export GTK_MODULES=gail:atk-bridge Then you must try to start at-spi-registryd before all other gtk applications. For a quickstart i would add this to startx skript but this is ugly. Ask the xfce folks where the /usr/lib/at-spi/at-spi-registryd can be started using xfce internal configuration. HTH.
