This time I had a smooth install and chose to install the desktop environment and found out something accidentally that was interesting. The first install I did when the computer booted up I forgot to connect the screen to the computer but gnome started up anyway and gave me a gnome fallback notification. So, I then attached the screen and rebooted the machine but this time no gnome fallback notification. This time things went silent after bluetooth tried installing so I hit control-alt-backspace a few times and then hit control-alt-f7 and the talking gnome login screen came up. I moved the cursor onto my login image account and hit enter and was prompted for a password and decided to tab around a little first. I found a cancel button and login buttons and a combobox where system default, gnome, and gnome classic were available. I chose system default and keyed in password and did a login and got a welcome from orca. I was then able to run gnome-terminal and figured after that I should report results. For now, it's a bit difficult getting the gnome login screen to come up maybe I don't know the correct timing but other than that, I think this one is ready for prime time!
