I've just updated to GNOME-Shell 3.8.4. I'm running the version of Orca 3.8.1 that I built from the unreleased package. Note that 3.10 will require Python 3 and the Speech-Dispatcher 0.8 issues to be sorted out.
If anyone is in a position to move the version of Orca in unstable to at least 3.8, now would be a good time to do the upload.
