Hey all. Below is something I sent to the Orca list earlier this evening. It occurs to me that this may be of interest to y'all, both as downstream and as a distro that ships desktop environments other than GNOME.
If you have an opinion on this matter which you would like to share with upstream, please comment on the bug and/or on the Orca list. Thanks and take care. --joanie -------- Original Message -------- Subject: [orca-list] Your comments on Bug 735691 - Change default Screen reader shortcut? Date: Fri, 29 Aug 2014 17:32:40 -0400 From: Joanmarie Diggs <[email protected]> To: Orca List <[email protected]> Hey all. Bastien Nocera, a long-time GNOME developer and maintainer of (amongst other things) gnome-settings-daemon, filed the following bug today: Bug 735691 - Change default Screen reader shortcut https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=735691 <begin quoted opening report> We currently use Alt+Win+S, Windows 8 uses Win+Enter, or Win+Volume up (on tablets): http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/hear-text-read-aloud-narrator. Should we switch to that? Or add it? <end quoted opening report> Personally, I don't care much what the shortcut is, as long as we have one and the one we have makes sense. And I myself don't see any problems with the current shortcut. But if you guys have opinions, please add them on this mailing list and/or on the bug as a comment. Thanks! --joanie _______________________________________________ orca-list mailing list [email protected] https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/orca-list Visit http://live.gnome.org/Orca for more information on Orca.
