sonic fails to cross build from source, because it executes the host architecture javac during build. Looking closer, one recognizes that the java stuff is only needed for an architecture-independent package. Indeed, removing any java compilation from the binary-arch build makes the cross build succeed. I also verified that native arch-only, indep-only and full builds keep working after applying the attached patch. Please consider using it. Helmut
