Greetings all, After taking weeks to just get a machine installed, I'm finally finding that the virtualized audio device from qemu and the linux driver aren't getting along so well. At some point the virtualized system stops being able to play sound, and the host systems audio buffer adjusts simultaneously up to being large enough to hold a half second of audio, causing the system to because difficult to use. As soon as I stop the qemu process it returns the audio buffer to a reasonable size.
Sometimes the linux kernel prints snd_hda_intel 0000:00:02.0: IRQ timing workaround is activated for card #0. Suggest a bigger bdl_pos_adj. in kmsg. I have increased this value all the way up to 512, which brings noticeably laggy performance, and it still prints IRQ timing workaround in kmsg. If anyone knows anything to help with this situation, I'd really appreciate it. Also, where might be a better place to discuss this? I don't see a debian audio related mailing list. Maybe a qemu related mailing list is the right place? --FC
