AIUI that miniDebConf gathers not only Debian developers, but also users & upstream developers? I would say it'd be indeed useful to tell people that Debian is accessible right from installation to login & desktop. Perhaps explain that however not all desktops and applications are accessible. First because not all toolkits are accessible (gtk&qt notably are), but also because they often create their own elements (e.g. widgets) which need to be made accessible explicitly. Also, you can explain that accessibility should be integrated, i.e. not an option that you have to ask somebody else to enable and reboot. One should just be able to press alt-super-s to get the speech synthesis running. And the maintenance of it should be integrated in normal processes, just like translation is.
