Any Progress on an AI Related Screen-Reader?

Hi All: Week after week in Top Tech Tidbits, they have alot about AI. Other 
than Eleven Labs, there are at least 2 other companies working on type of 
voices. 1 of my Linux experts thinks eventually I can replace my DecTalk with 
an AI related tool. Whether its a hook through Speakup or a stand-alone 
project, wondering if there are any commandline tools I can try? A majority of 
the time I am reading mail in Alpine. 
An aspect which might slow down progress may be licensing?
