The Ada language provides several features for which C programmers must use a preprocessor. I use preprocessing only very occasionally, to enable the use of GNAT.Debug_Pools for all my access types when I want to check for heap-usage errors. For this, I have written my own simple preprocessor that simply uncomments or comments the necessary with clauses, pool declarations, and 'Storage_Pool attribute definition clauses. (Earlier, I used m4 preprocessing to switch between little-endian and big-endian numbering in record representation clauses.
