Hi, I have troubles to get X to work on an AlphaServer. The problem is that xterm and (some other X clients like Emacs) freeze the X server. The server starts correctly and the window manager works fine. Various programs (rxvt for instance) works too. But the X server freeze as soon as I start an xterm or emacs. The problem does not appen if the server is started by root.
I do not understand what's going on. Any idea? Some thecnical information: Debian Potato 2.2 X server XF86_TGA AlphaServer 400 kernel from kernel-image-2.2.15-generic Thanks in advance, Marco -- alias dselect='dselect --expert'
