Greetings, I have an Alpha NONAME Multia machine and I have installed Debian-2.1 (recently upgraded to Debian-2.2) and it works fine. Now I want to enable its sound subsystem. I don't have its user manual, but I opened its case and saw that it has a Crystal CS4231A-KL chip on board. I also found that there is a kernel option (kernel-2.2.11) Crystal 423X support when make menuconfig. So I compiled it and tried to load the driver. But I do not succeed. I always got the "device or resource busy" message.
Because I don't have the user manual of that machine, so I don't know what irq, ioport, dma numbers that chip could accept, and I also don't know if that kernel driver is the exactly one I could use or not. So I ask here for help. Could anyone give me any suggestion if you have experience on this? Thank you very much for your advice in advance. T.H.Hsieh
