Followup to my own post: I downloaded the new version (setiathome-3.03.alpha-unknown-linux-gnu.tar) from the [EMAIL PROTECTED] webpage, and just untarred into a directory. Now I get the message
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/setiathome-3.03.alpha-unknown-linux-gnu ]$ ./setiathome Couldn't get lock file. This is probably because another instance of [EMAIL PROTECTED] is running in this directory. Each instance of [EMAIL PROTECTED] must run in a separate directory. There is no other instance of setiathome on the machine, according to 'ps ax'. Well well. At least it's a different message. I'll try the debian-user list in the future, as I don't think this is an Alpha-specific question. Thanks for the suggestions sent to me. /g. -- Gustaf Erikson -+- +46 70 444 0726 -+- [http://stureby.net/] "Send lawyers, guns, and money..."
