This is *not* healthy. What might have happened is that a memory page got corrupted somehow, it's happened to me once. A reboot fixed it. If, however, the binary is corrupted, then the system won't really come up in any useable state... I recommend reinstalling the sysvinit .deb via "dpkg -i sysvinit_2.81-1_alpha.deb" before rebooting.
