The routing has changed between 2.2 and 2.4. 2.2 had packages go
through input and forward and 2.4 only through forward iirc.
Maybe that is a problem.
Try to add some log rules before rejecting a packet.
Anothe rproblem might be that transparent proxying needs patches to
the proxy progs (see transproxy buglist for a patch).
