I think you've got yourself a TurboChannel machine that Linux doesn't support. There some info on a porting project here: http://www.phys.ufl.edu/~prescott/linux/alpha/dec3000-port.html
but it doesn't look like anything has been done in quite a while. I think that NetBSD does run on these boxes, but last I knew they didn't support a keyboard or video so you need to control it over the serial port.
