Try google'ing around for info on your card. I remember seeing a couple of stories of people having trouble with that speficic part. IIRC you need some clocklines in your config file, but can't quite remember how you calculate/extract/find those values. Anyway, you might be better off getting some new (used) supported card (Matrox ones seem to be the best price/performance choice for alpha/linux -- check on your local ebay for mystique's or millenium's), than trying to make that piece of *($# to work under X.
