Fellows, has somebody ever had success installing woody or sid in an ES45 (4x21264x1.25GHz)?? I had no problems with potato and an ES40, but I think the ES45 has something different, because after aboot and the right paramenters, the screen turns black as if it were echoing to the console.... but the console remains deaf too... all the ttyS and the RJ too....
To summarize: potato+ES40 = OK potato+ES45 = black screen woody+ES45 = black screen unstable(temp distribution)+ES45 = black screen redhat+ES45 = OK but I dont want RH.... Therefore I`ll stick with Tru64 until I solve this problem. The beauty of these machines is that the HD is hot swap.. When I want to do tests, I remove the precious running Tru64 and pop an empty HD. Thanks, Sincerely, Stefano Curtarolo (happy owner of an ES45). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Prof. Stefano Curtarolo Duke University, Dept.
