Well, 2 pieces of good news: Xorg 6.9.0 does indeed seem to support the G450 fine DRI even seems to work!
However, still learning the fun on "pinning" with Apt-get, taking sometime to get a working config with Gnome and so on likeing the old Xorg and X11..
