Looking at stacktraces (when it is possible to get one), and seeing how broken some argument values are (most notably "this"), and considering calls come from javascript, I suspect a problem with xptcinvoke (xpcom/reflect/xptcall/src/md/unix/xptcinvoke_linux_alpha.cpp).
As alpha is not a release architecture, and as I have very limited knowledge of the alpha assembler code, I'll leave this investigation to willing alpha porters that would like iceweasel to work on alpha.
