As reported on the debian-haskell email list ghc 7.6.1-2 in experimental FTBFS on alpha. This is reported upstream as ghc ticket: 7339 Commit 9756690fe7aa26aee6955d0b720377d53170c542 upstream fixes the problem. My test build of 7.6.1-2 plus that commit built to completion.
