debian-amd64 is a non-official debian version. See http://www.debian.org/ports/amd64/ for more info. See http://debian-amd64.alioth.debian.org/install-images/ for installer ISOs using the new Debian-installer. Mostly due to the fact that all recent hardware seems to require a binary driver :(. But as you are using the machine for a server, that should not be a problem. HTH, Thomas
