I've been trying to complete a new installation from the Sarge repository today, using the current Debian Installer (monolithic/mini.iso). Mostly the install goes smoothly, until near the end when it attempts to do a final installation of a hundred or so packages. At this point I can not complete the installation of these packages as they all seem to fail with the above error. Could this be something that I have done wrong during the installation, or could this be a problem with the Deb packages themselves? I'm using the debian-amd64.alioth.debian.org mirror, the '/sarge' directory, and the 'testing' distribution.
