Are we talking about the normal scsi card itself or does your S4882 has the "credit card sized raid card" (S2015S) installed ?

I installed le scsi module by hand: modprobe mptscsi...
and it works: I can see (dmesg) the two hard disks attached.
Then, I go back to the installation menu; I skip the "material detection"; I go to "disk partitioning"... it freezes.
