on a very similar configuration I had to install the nvidia drivers. Install the nvidia-kernel-source debian package. Then compile the modules for your kernel, then install them and the nvidia-kernel-common and nvidia-glx packages. Finally, reconfigure your X server to use the nvidia driver, and you should be fine. It works here.
