I installed it in a chroot, and it seems to work fine (except I haven't figure out how to print from it using lprng). I made a debian menu with the command "dchroot -c ia32 -d /usr/local/Adobe/Acrobat7.0/bin/acroread" which works from the Debian menu. I installed it by simply downloading it, moving it to the chroot, unzipped, tar'd, and then ran the install script. Maybe I'm lucky.
