Is that the nv or nvidia driver saying that? > What else is needed? Xorg still does not find the module nvidia... Does the nvidia driver work with x.org? I had absolutely no problems with an fx5200 and the nvidia driver using xfree86. Never tried x.org (no idea yet why I should, although future development of course makes x.org much better).
