Well SATA harddisks have been out a while and work. SATA optical drives are new (the PX712SA was probably the first and was VERY hard to even find outside Japan.) > I'll know one of these days. I do know that I couldn't get the CD to work on 2.6.11 debian kernel on a Dell laptop running in the @[EMAIL PROTECTED] combined mode on an intel ICH controller and of course dell won't make a bios you can switch to native mode since then they would have to answer people's dumb questions about how to install XP without a floppy to load the SATA driver. :( > If that is the driver included with sarge, I can say that it doesn't > work with the chips on the K8WE board. I imagine if it detects it, it will just do the right thing, and it if doesn't you will have to give it a clue as to which driver to load to run that controller (assuming linux support exists for it).
