Hello amd64's list I'm a newbie to the amd64 plataform, and I'm triying to compile a nVidia [GeForce FX 5200].
I have trying the method related in /usr/share/doc/nvidia-kernel-source/README.Debian I've the 2.6.8-11-amd64-k8 kernel and kernel-headers-2.6.8-11-amd64-k8 I installed the nvidia-kernel-source.tar.gz When I execute the command : debian/rules binary_modules ... IGNORE_CC_MISMATCH=1 CC="gcc-3.4" /usr/bin/make -C /usr/src/modules/nvidia-kernel/nv -f Makefile SYSSRC=/usr/s rc/kernel-headers-2.6.8-11-amd64-k8 KBUILD_PARAMS="-C /usr/src/kernel-headers-2.6.8-11-amd64-k8 SUBDIRS=/usr/ src/modules/nvidia-kernel/nv" module; make[1]: Entering directory `/usr/src/modules/nvidia-kernel/nv' failed to determine PATCHLEVEL! make[1]: *** [module] Error 1 make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/modules/nvidia-kernel/nv' make: *** [build-stamp] Error 2 ... what's PATCHLEVEL? why break if the packages are same version 2.6.8-11-amd64-k8 I have see that PACHLEVEL==6 and it's spects PACHLEVEL=4.
