No, the program doesn't need the dvd, but i use 2.6.11. I installed UT with the installer as root in /usr/local/games edit the script in /usr/local/bin and installed ECE bonus pack and then the 3355 patch. Perhaps its a ECE bonus pack issue but i doubt it. Have you any log in your .ut2004 dir? So perhaps it's a graphic driver problem. I have a ati card so i can't help here.
