I completed the installation proces by means of chroot install. After the error, I enter alternate screen by Alt-F2. Then after hitting return a. # mount -t proc proc /target/proc b. # chroot /target /bin/bash c. # mount -a d. # gpg --keyserver keyring.debian.org --recv 4F368D5D e. # apt-get update (still errs!) f. # gpg --no-default-keyring --keyring /etc/apt/trusted.gpg --recv-key E415B2B4B5F5BBED g. # apt-get update h. # apt-get install linux-image-2.6.12-1-amd64-k8-smp lilo initrd-tools cramfsprogs dash i. # umount -a j. # exit k. # umount /target/proc l. # reboot The following are my comments: 1. At "Configure time zone", I cannot select time-zone. Using tzconfig, I must do it later. 2. After reboot, I need to modprobe some modules. For example, I need forcedeth for my networking. I must write /etc/modules to avoid modprobe. 3. I invoked 2nd stage installer manually: # base-config 4. etch installation is described at debian-boot mailing list: http://lists.debian.org/debian-boot/2005/10/msg00091.html The following are helpful: http://www.debian-administration.org/articles/174 http://www.64bit-world.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-4080.html Toshikazu Aiyama __________________________________ Yahoo!
