also, if you have imagemagick installed (likely you do)
then 'display' isnt half bad. beats viewing an image with
vi.

The intended Gnome standard is now "eog" (Eye of Gnome).
I personally use "qiv" (Quick Image Viewer).  Both are
supported Debian packages.
