I would check to see if there are any files open on the drive. In particular, Konqueror was bad for leaving files open, preventing you from un-mounting or ejecting CDs/DVDs. If your CD is mounted on /media/cdrom then try lsof | grep /media/cdrom Regards, Ozz.
