I am running as root when I get that error. I ./configure and make as user mbse, then su to root and make install. I saw this error a couple months ago while I was looking at unstable and I couldn't "make install" also. It's required to "make install" that package as root else I get an error "You are not root!" ATM I am back to sarge and make install does work fine. There is something just different enough to give me this error but I'm not sure what, I'll keep looking. > Apart from that you have to give us the actual test that fails for any > more insight. Aside from this package I don't compile a lot of software so I don't have a lot of experience in the real world if other packages also have trouble with make install. Next time I am in etch I'll try another package aside from this one and see how it goes. I'm reasonably certain that you "make install" as root on a regular basis with no problem? -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble?
