fwiw i have found that mesa tends to clobber libGL
no big dramas, the change the symlink in the appropriate lib
dir (/usr/lib) from the mesa library to the nvidia library
and all is well again.

It must be activated.
Yes, it's activated but it's not enough. This is the "Section" (I
never changed it):
Section "Module"
# Load "bitmap"
Load "dbe"
# Load "ddc"
## Load "dri"
Load "extmod"
Load "freetype"
Load "glx"
# Load "int10"
# Load "record"
Load "type1"
#Load "vbe"
Load "synaptics"
EndSection
Thanks,
Giulio
I have same problems NVidia (card 6200). glxgears print ~3FPS. I'll try
to load/unload kernel modules, restart X server, but it does not effect.
But after reboot computer all works fine.
So, try to reboot or power on/off your computer.
