True in theory, but not in practice. The Midiman Delta series (delta 33, 66, and audiophile) have D/A and A/D converters on board yet you can't hear or measure any noise from the computer itself. The external breakout box for the Delta 66 made me think it would contain the A/D and D/A converters, but it turned out to be just a box with plugs.
