If you dist-upgraded yesterday you might have got a big grub snafu hence no boot. I had to use a USB stick install image in Rescue mode to dist-upgrade again today (inc. new versions of grub-common and grub-pc) and in same Rescue session rewrite GRUB on the MBR. HTH Norv
