This is a decision that predates my involvement with Apache. From some archaelogical digging, mod_autoindex was modified by Johnie Ingram (the previous maintainer) to introduce StudlyIndexing. Now people may be using StudlyIndexing so we can't just arbitrarily switch back. The good news is that the IgnoreCase option doesn't seem to be a huge amount of work to add back to the forked version of mod_autoindex, and I intend to do so within the next week. -- "Next the statesmen will invent cheap lies, putting the blame upon the nation that is attacked, and every man will be glad of those conscience-soothing falsities, and will diligently study them, and refuse to examine any refutations of them; and thus he will by and by convince himself that the war is just, and will thank God for the better sleep he enjoys after this process of grotesque self-deception." -- Mark Twain
