Package: apache-perl Version: 1.3.33-6sarge1 Severity: normal The /etc/init.d/apache-perl script sends a signal HUP to apache-perl when called with the restart option. The apache doco says that this causes the parent to kill it's children, re-read it's config files, and re open the log files.
What this doesn't do is load up new versions of perl modules. So if you've just made a change to your web application, the change doesn't come into effect. -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.8-2-686-smp Locale: LANG=en_AU, LC_CTYPE=en_AU (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Versions of packages apache-perl depends on: ii apache-common 1.3.33-6sarge1 support files for all Apache webse ii debconf 1.4.30.13 Debian configuration management sy ii dpkg 1.10.28 Package maintenance system for Deb ii libapache-mod-perl 1.29.0.3-6sarge1 integration of perl with the Apach ii libc6 2.3.2.ds1-22 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libdb4.2 4.2.52-18 Berkeley v4.2 Database Libraries [ ii libexpat1 1.95.8-3 XML parsing C library - runtime li ii libmagic1 4.12-1 File type determination library us ii libperl5.8 5.8.4-8sarge3 Shared Perl library ii logrotate 3.7-5 Log rotation utility ii mime-support 3.28-1 MIME files 'mime.types' & 'mailcap -- debconf information excluded -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
