Hi,
As merged bugs like #334824 or #398223 explains, when using SSL
certificate with a pass phrase the logrotate cannot restart the server.
Therefore the "option 2" & "option 3" are not compatible with that
configuration. So It might be useful to reconsider "option 1".
In the event the selected option is incompatible with a certificate
using a pass phrase, the Debian document shall explicitly explain the
recommended solution for SSL especially if the recommended solutions is
to remove pass phrase as this is not obvious on a security point of view.
Apache documentation on logs :
http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.0/logs.html suggest the equivalent of
"option 1" or the usage of pipped log
