There are four open bug reports about this, three against apr-util and one against apache2. I don't think it is difficult to find. Either the php or mysql package needs to be changed before we can activate mysql support in apr-util. The mysql change will not happen for lenny, but hopefully the php change will. For details, see http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=395959 and the bugs that are blocking it.
