I have already uploaded a new version to master which should fix this (it's in http://incoming.debian.org/iproute_20010824-6.{dsc,diff.gz})
Unfortunately, I do not have access to any ARM, so could you (or anyone in debian-arm) check if this version of iproute works in arm?
