Hi I've installed Deb 4.0 on a NSLU2, it did not istall first time it took several attempts to load, I running with a 8 GB flash stick. I wasn't able untar the tar ball directly on to the stick as in the manual method of installation, the host machine runs MDV 2001.1 and did not like dual partition names.
I've spent two days trying to stop the mandatory change password on SSH login. I've tried putting SSH keys in, and seaching all through /etc/pam.d. and googling. I found how to turn it on but not off. Its this behaviour:- [EMAIL PROTECTED] Desktop]# route add -host 192.168.1.77 eth2 [EMAIL PROTECTED] Desktop]# ssh 192.168.1.77 [EMAIL PROTECTED]'s password: You are required to change your password immediately (root enforced) Last login: Thu Jan 1 01:04:58 1970 from 192.168.1.1 Changing password for root (current) UNIX password: Changing the password allows you to continue. if you try to login as a user , you get the same, but after changing the password it drops the connection. I know my way around Mandriva, I've been using it for the the last 5 years, but I'm new to Debian. How do I turn off the password change request ?? The intended use of this wee beastie is as a Ham DXCluster server, Firewall, and printserver. So extra USB ports to be added, and clocked, plus ntp client & ddclient to be run.
