Sorry, I got interrupted when writing this list and obviously forgot
something.

I mean:

 ...
 - Download http://www.cyrius.com/debian/nslu2/files/sda1-2.6.18.dfsg.1-18etch1
 - Write the image to flash (e.g. via upslug2 via the network)
 - Boot the nslu2 and check /proc/mtd to see how large the kernel partition is.
