Why? Is not ident protocol anachronic? (see wikipedia entry)
pidentd is installed on all debian installs by default,
since the "priority" section of pident is set to "standard".
It has already been reported as bug on:

I saw this bug and, personally, I think that provisionally it's enough
to comment the line where it appears in /etc/inetd.conf. By this way, it
will be installed but not enabled by default.
