Greetings all; That is the question unless someone can tell me how to make lightdm work with a 24 bit framebuffer on a pi 3b. The default of 16 bits blends too many colors into one box. X is starting the server, but except for a mouse pointer. I can right click, which brings up a very simple menu, from which I can call up a terminal, and from there I can run things, and even the limited color looks way better than it did on a 12 bit screen.
